Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Building on the commitment to provide the best in technology, the Diagnostic Imaging Department at UH-Geneva Medical Center invested $2.5 million in the construction of a total MRI Suite. The suite features a $1.5 million state-of-the-art Siemens Avanto Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner. Delivering superior imaging, the MRI is also designed for patient comfort. Although it is not a true open MRI, the new MRI has an ultra-short magnet, allowing the patient to experience a greater feeling of openness during their scan. The design also accommodates larger body types and features a faster scan time. The feet-first entry design also adds greatly to the patient’s feel of relaxation. The suite’s beautiful simulated skylight, plus natural light, and the option for a patient to listen to CDs during the scan adds up to the most comfortable MRI experience in medicine today.
